Ruth Holcomb
Ruth, age 95, of Huntley, IL, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021, at Journey Care Hospice-Barrington, IL.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Carpentersville, IL to parents Wilhelm and Martha (Moldenhauer) Lehmbeck. She graduated from Maine Township High School East in Des Plaines, IL, where the family lived for many years.
Ruth married Clarence (Bud) Holcomb on November 16, 1946. They lived in Dundee, IL for many years while raising a family. Bud preceded her in death on March 10, 1984 (age 66).
Survivors include her son Jim Holcomb of Woodstock, IL and son Jack Holcomb of Indianapolis, IN; sister Martha Krecker of Twin Lakes, WI and Anita Bruch of Hudson, WI. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lisa Lehmbeck, Eleanore Larson and brother Bill Lehmbeck.
Ruth enjoyed interior decorating, flower arranging, good times with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, and of course "shopping." She worked many years at various places and enjoyed all of it. Both she and Bud worked for Heagers Pottery for many years. Huntley, IL was a town she always loved. She watched it grow as the years flew by. We will miss her so much! Her beautiful red hair she kept to her death.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10-11 a.m. with services to follow on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Saunders Funeral Home & Crematory, 1745 S. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock, IL 60098. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, IL.
