Died: March 3, 2015; in Crystal Lake
Steve G. Smeja, 59 of Crystal Lake. Born October 20, 1955, in Chicago to George Smeja and Sandra (Prescott) Montes, passed away peacefully at his home March 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife Ruth; children, Kimberly Vasquez and Steven (Rene) Smeja; step-children, Lisa Baron and Mario (Marlene) Slaven; grandchildren, Robert "RJ" Schroeder, Nathan, Sara, Nancy and Joshua Smeja; and sisters, Lisa Montes, and Sharon Laboy.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Smeja; his sister, Robin Burlack; and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. Until 9:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 6 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.

Dad I miss you so much. If just a phone call it would be nice and to hear you laugh and see your smile with your beautiful eyes.
