Thomas P. "Tom" Rizza, 67, of Elgin, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born on April 2, 1957, in Chicago, IL, Tom was the beloved son of Gene and Maureen (McCaftery) Rizza.
He is survived by his three sons: Bryan (Megan), Brandon, and Grant (Ashley); his grandchildren: Emma, Hanna, Payton, and Colt; and his siblings: Jerry, Diane, Karen, and Linda. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, from 1-6 pm at 4101 Binnie Road, West Dundee, IL 60118. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom's name may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The James A. O'Connor Funeral Home in Huntley is assisting the family. Tom spent his career in the concrete industry, where he owned and operated Rizza Concrete with his brother Jerry. He was also a proud member of the Local 502 union. In his free time, Tom loved spending time with his sons, whether it was watching them play sports, taking them fishing, or hunting. He cherished bonding with his boys.
As a proud grandfather, Tom adored spending time with his grandchildren, often spoiling them. He will always be remembered as a larger-than-life figure with a truly one-of-a-kind personality.

It was with great sadness when I learned of the passing of my friend, Tom Rizza. I have known Tom for many years and considered him a very good friend. We enjoyed good times together at work and many fishing trips together! He will always be remembered as someone I could count on if needed. He was also friends with my family. So sorry for your loss. He was a great guy.. Very interesting to talk to and always gave me a good laugh. Going to be so hard not to see Tom hanging around with Maggie in the front yard. He was the greatest friend and neighbor. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I consider myself lucky enough to be a friend of Tom´s for about 6 years. Tom always could make you laugh if you were down and his sense of humor will be missed
