It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas C. Welch on Saturday, January 28 , 2023. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Pell City, Alabama. Tom was a retired teacher and a former Deacon who had served as the Director of Deacon Directors for a time. Tom's hobbies included real estate, playing bridge, sports of all kinds, and he always loved to crack a joke. Tom was a patriot and loved this country. Although a late transplant to Alabama he embraced the state as his own. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Bessie Welch, brother, Michael Welch, and first wife Nancy (Mortimore). He is survived by his wife, Charmaine; son, Chad Welch (Mallory); daughter, Shannon Nagy (Anthony); stepson Marc Booker; stepdaughters Erica Todd (Mike) and Robyn Booker (Lisa); grandchildren: Kevin Welch (Rachel), Brittany Welch, David Welch, Kaegan Welch and Emma Koontz; step-grandchildren John Booker, Anna Booker, Jack Nix, Mason Nix, Sophie Booker and Logan Booker, and great granddaughter Charlotte Welch, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom was a very good, kind and humble man who will be missed by all who knew him.
