Todd F. Smith, age 72, Chicago-born and raised in Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at his home in Algonquin, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Todd was a devoted husband, dad, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Livesay-Smith; his children, Brandon, Adam, and Molly; and his stepson, Marc A. Collura, along with step-grandson Marc M. Collura. He is also survived by his brother Neal; his sister Holly (Bourbon); his niece Jennifer Nicosia (née Manos) and her husband, Rosario; and his nephew Sean Nallick.
Todd loved fishing, took pride in his well-earned role as grill master, and enjoyed hosting and cooking for family, friends, and neighbors. He never missed an opportunity to share a dad joke (whether you were ready for it or not). If you were his friend, you were his friend for life. He will be remembered for his humor, his big heart, and the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lois Joy (née Oberfelder) Smith.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
