Eugene M. Sinn
EUGENE M. SINN KOUTS, IN Eugene M. Sinn, born January 21, 1929, to Albert and Jennie (Swing) Sinn in Kouts, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cecilia (Shutske) Sinn; and four daughters: Patricia and Joseph Bianco (Valparaiso), Carol and John Timothy Schuster (Demotte), Marge Sebelius (St. Louis), and Cheryl and Eric DeVuyst (Morrison, Oklahoma); 6six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leroy Sinn, and son in law Christopher Moss. Gene graduated from Kouts High School in 1947, was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany, close to where his father Albert was born and was a member of the Kouts American Legion. He was a life-long dairy farmer in the Kouts area, enjoyed working with youth and was a firm believer in the 4-H program. Gene served on the Porter County 4-H Swine and Dairy committees, served for many years as a director of the Kankakee Valley REMC, was a life time member of the National Holstein Association and served 12 years as a director forthe Indiana Holstein Association. Gene was also a member of the Porter County Farm Bureau and the Apostolic Christian Church in LaCrosse. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 Indiana Ave, Kouts. The funeral service will begin Monday 10:00 a.m. at LaCrosse Apostolic Christian Church with burial following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kouts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Porter County 4-H Council, Visiting Nurse Association, or a church of your choice.
