Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Adam, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Those we love remain with us,

for love itself lives on...

NO REGRETS

Was it yesterday I knew, that you
and you, and you,
Would all age, and face the reaper,
But not I?
What’s that young man you tell me?
That now you’re the one immortal.
Do not be fooled by nature’s
kindly lie.
In the wisdom that serves youth,
the one great, enduring truth,
is the knowledge of unending
time to spare.
You used yours wisely... loved and laughed,
fought for family, God and country,
Let your motto...“NO REGRETS”
resound forever in the air.

The poem above is for Adam and all those serving. We love and miss you so much, Adam, and love all the other kids so much, that I’m sure God is getting tired of hearing from me.
I’m remembering all the fun we had when the kids were growing up. When the twins were so little, and would sit on the top step and knock when they heard us come in. The twins hula-hooping in long strands of “pop-beads”, and the day we all took them and Mark for their first haircuts. What a beautiful, head turning bunch they were!
And as they grew up, how loving and open hearted they remained. At times I thought I’d get a callous on the top of my head from them rubbing it and saying “I love you, Grams.”
When Adam and Jimmy spent time in the country with us and the tricks we all played on each other. Like the night Gramps and I saw planes dropping flares and convinced the two kids that the flares were flying saucers. And the evening they found the dog tattooer and gave each other tattooes!
Or faces and bare backs decorated with markers when somebody was asleep! What a great gift to us that we had that time and I’ll always be grateful for it. I can still see them when they would hear the school bus coming, flying down the steps, out the door and hopping the fence in order not to miss it. They caught on to life in the boonies quickly and made so many friends.
Like Kim said in her note, see you at the big DBD up there.
We’ll love you and miss you always, Grams and the Moke

Kimberly Koch

I know i already wrote in this once but i have so many great memories with you....Like the time I smuggled you and Jimmy into the drive in in the trunk of my car....i felt bad for making you stay in there as long as I did ....but it was hilarious and you took it with stride. We've had so many great times.....God were gonna miss you, the DBD's are never gonna be complete without you but you'll be there in every one of our hearts. Ill never forget the conversation that you and i had the day i went to get my tattoo...ive replayed it in my mind everyday since we lost you...I just wish my words could have changed your decisions...but i guess im just being selfish....No Regrets...You lived your life to the fullest and brought so much joy to everyone who loved you. You'll forever be my hero...watch over Joe, Dustin D., and the rest of our heroes abroad....i know you will. This one's for you...my cousin, brother, and friend...gone but never forgotten.

All my love,

Your cousin Kimmy

My precious Adam: There will always be a heaviness in my heart because you are no longer with us. What a joy you always were - as a toddeler who cheerfully puthis toys away at the end of the day - when you learned that spilled milk was not a cause of dismay and just like a big boy would take the offered towel and caefully mop it up. I remember your smile of delight when you discovered there was always more milk to pour into your glass. I cannot recall an awkward or difficult time in your presence - always there was the brightest smile and a loving heart. Now you are where eternal joy is deservedly yours and I thank God for our memories of you for they will always be a source of joy for us.

The memories I have of you I will cherish forever. I Love you and miss you so very much. But I know your in Heaven and that your watching over me and the rest of the family. Thats my only comfort. Someday we'll all be together again, so save me a place in Heaven. Until then, remember, you'll always be in my heart. God Bless You Adam, and thanks for the memories.

All My Love Forever,

Your Aunt Peg

I apologize for such a late entry, my thoughts have been there, but I also have experienced a death in the family. I never knew your son, I just knew of both of your son's thru Jessie Colburn. Jes, I know you are deeply heartbroken,I love you and you know you have always been special to me. Please call me or come over if you need me. I just want to extend my heartfelt deepest sympathy to all of Adam's family and friends. He has touched the lives of many people. He is forever our hero and should not be forgotten. My son. Dennis Shea. also serves in the Air Force. I pray everyday for God to wrap his protection around him. I invite everyone to pray for all our troops that serve. Words could never express my greatfullness to Adam. To Mr. Harting, and Adam's mom God bless you and thank you for giving society a great human being who gave of himself for his country. Thank you Adam, for sacrificing the ultimate for our freedom. I have prayed for God to give comfort, strength, and wisdom to all who are in so much pain. And lastly, to my sister, and brother in law Drennan, and Laura Gaffney God Bless You. You guys are some of the greatest human beings that God has produced. I am so very proud of what you guys stand for. I love you both so much. God Bless All, and may God give us all the strength, and comfort needed in the days ahead. Please pray for all our young men and women who serve.

My thoughts are with Adam's family at this time; a stranger to you all except to Adam's grandmother, Mary, and she always speaks of her lovely granchildren, her pride in them, and her worries for them.

It's a terrible tragedy that her worst fears have come true, I am so sorry for you all, and hope to God, all the boys and girls still there come home soon.

Thoughts and prayers with you all.

Im sad that i won't get to know the man you were turning out to be. Until we all meet again at the DBD in heaven....save us a few big tables. I love you man.

To the Father and Mother of Adam Harting my deepest regrets on the loss of your son. Harting was a great soldier and person I pray my son will turn out to be the man that Harting was. Adam was full of courage and always seen the misson through to the end. I served with Adam during OIF1 and watched him go from a new soldier to a damn fine one, unfortunately due to a injury during training I was unable to join my brothers for this deployment. I wish I could have been there from the start, maybe something I said or did would have change the outcome of that day. I will never forget him and the times we had together we didn't hang out much but he always sought my advice most of our conversations were how he could gain more muscle. One of the last ones we had was about marriage and settling down he said he was serious about a certian girl but never told me her name. I remember the first time we met was during PT at 0dark30ty combatives was the task and he advised me to go easy on him cause he just got a new tattoo I tried my best but I had a 100lbs on him. Harting I miss you man and will see you again watch over the rest of them and see that they all come home safe. RIP no regrets

What wonderful people there are in this world to so honor a young man many of you didn't even know. I can tell you that he was loving, fun, thoughtful, sensitive, and had a great sense of duty and honor. He loved his family and his country above all else. He was also my heart. My grandson.

Adam was a very good friend, he was one of the first friends i had coming into the company. I use to go over to his room and just talk about anything. Dear Son you will be missed more than you will ever know. You have been a part of my family for years. You became my son when you and my baby boy became brothers and best friends. Your beautiful blue eyes and bright smile that could melt hearts will be missed. You may be gone from our arms but please stay with Mike until he comes home and be his guide and protector. I love you and miss you dearly. Momma Miley
