Ahmed Hanafi Obituary

AHMED E. HANAFI FORMERLY OF HIGHLAND, IN Ahmed E. Hanafi, age 62, formerly of Highland, IN, passed away at home in Indianapolis, IN on Sunday, September 7, 2008. He is survived by daughters: Suzanne (Jason Voyles) of Indianapolis, IN and Sara (Jasen Moore) of Beech Grove, IN; granddaughter, Anika Isis Moore of Beech Grove, IN; and former spouse and best friend, Betsy Hanafi of Bloomington, IN. Ahmed also leaves behind brothers: Adel and Sami; sister, Sawsan; and several nieces and nephews in Egypt. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Hanafi was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt and emigrated to the USA in 1974. He proudly became an American citizen. Ahmed received his MSE from Purdue University Calumet. He was employed for 25 years as a Project Engineer at Superior Engineering Corp., retiring in 2001. There will be a memorial luncheon given by the family on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. held at Freddy's Steakhouse in Hammond, IN. Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Market Street, Indianapolis, IN is handling arrangements. For information regarding the memorial service, contact (317) 387-7000.
