HIGHLAND, IN - Andrew "Andy" M. Kusek, Jr., age 74, of Highland, IN, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lisa (nee Garcia) Kusek, stepsons: Christian and Roman Mendez: granddaughter, Nariyah Mendez: sister-in-law, Arlene Kusek: brother-in-law, Julio Garcia (Juanita): sister-in-law, Patricia Garcia: nieces: Dawn (Sean) Niccum and Amy Williams: nephew, Chris Young; and various other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew M. Kusek, Sr. and Jean (Jakubiec) Kusek: brother, Gerald Kusek: sister, Ilene Young: brother-in-law, Orlando W. Garcia.

Andrew was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute and received a bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University Bloomington in 1974. He worked for many years as an industrial sales executive. He was the former owner and operator of Schult Engineering located in Princeton, IA. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 981 in Highland, Pulaski Senior Center in Hammond, and the Mascot Senior Center in Whiting.

Andrew was always willing to give his time and resources to those in need. He found joy in grilling and cooking, sharing his passion for food with family and friends. He liked golfing and watching Western movies. He thoroughly enjoyed participating at the Senior Centers playing Uno and Bingo along with grilling at various events for them. He also enjoyed traveling and found excitement at the casinos both local and afar. He will forever be remembered for his boundless generosity.

Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, directly at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 W. 150th St, East Chicago, IN, 46312, with Msgr. John J. Siekierski officiating. Burial private. SOLAN PRUZIN FUNERAL HOME entrusted with services.

The Family would like to thank all who visited, said prayers, sent cards, and offered their support during Andrew's time of need.

We’ve all known Andy since our days hanging out at the cottage with himhe was always just Andy & why we all loved him! Through good times & bad times, he remained a great friend:)
Sad that we all didn’t keep in touch but we knew he was out there being Andy.
Sounds like he did alot of good in this world-
Our condolences to his family, all his families & we are SO happy that he got to experience children & better yet, grandchildren! Good for him& them!!
Andy will definitely be missed-God bless him.
