Anthony Leverich Obituary

Anthony "Toni" Leverich passed away on October 23, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., after a short illness.

Toni was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, on September 10, 1952, to Claude Frank Leverich, Jr. (Buddy) and Constance Leverich who preceded him in death. He was second of six children and is survived by his siblings, Connie Jo Dewitt (Dean), Roseanne Leverich, Barbara Roscher (Kent), Gloria Smith (Steve), and Jonathan Leverich. Toni was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephew. One nephew, Karl Dittmann, preceded him in death.

He loved and cared for his niece, Kayleen Leverich, and great-nephew, Dakota, as a father/grandfather figure and role model. Kayleen and Toni's sister, Gloria Smith, lovingly cared for him throughout his illness and were there at the end.

In addition, Toni's family included dear friends, Sara Berry, Sarah Hall, and Sean Hall who shared his love of music and enjoyed playing with him over the years. He will be missed so much by all.

Toni graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1970 and attended Pittsburg State University. He had a natural talent for electronics, mechanics, and music. His love of music was shared through several bands he played with over the years. He loved the outdoors and traveled the country hiking, camping, and occasionally following the Grateful Dead.

Toni's kindness, acceptance, and sense of humor attracted a world of friends too numerous to mention. He will be missed by so many.

A Celebration of Life is being planned. Place, Date, and Time to be announced.
