Atlas Azbill Obituary
Atlas Phoenix Azbill, 13 days in our arms, forever in our hearts, passed gently into eternity Saturday, September 20, 2008. He was born September 7, 2008 in Munster, IN to Ryan and Amanda (nee Hildenbrand) Azbill. A perfect angel, Atlas was their strong little man even to the end. Although brief, his life touched many hearts and his name will never be forgotten. A special thank you from the family is given to Kelly from the transport team, his Chicago doctors and nurses, and the whole team at Children's Memorial Hospital. Atlas leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents: Ryan and Amanda Azbill of Gary; many devoted relatives; his maternal grandparents: Nancee (Don) Noojin of Hammond and Stephen Stout of TN; paternal grandparents: Jeffery Azbill, Sr. and Susan (Terry) Hogue both of Gary; maternal great-grandparents: John and Phyllis Hildenbrand of Hammond, Robert Stout of Whiting and Barb Iler of Highland; paternal great grandmother, Lydia Irene Azbill of Gary; aunts and uncles: Bradlee (Kelly) Hildenbrand of Merrillville, Matthew Stout of Hammond, BreAnne Ferguson of Hammond, Jeffrey Azbill, Jr. and John Thomas, both of Gary; as well as many dear cousins and family friends. Waiting to greet him in Heaven are paternal great grandparents: Charles Azbill, Marvin and Gail Thomas; and cousin, Shawn Azbill. Visitation will take place Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 S. Cline Ave. (1/2 mile south of Rt. 30), Schererville, IN. On Friday, September 26, 2008, family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until his 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life service, led by Minister John Brewer. At rest, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name may be made to the family. Info: (219) 365-9554.

To the sweetest little nephew god could have ever created. Sleep tight and be peaceful. Watch over those who love you. You will never be forgotten. Though your journey was short your impact was huge. Hi Atlas! I hope the other angels treated you good on your first halloween in heaven. Im sure it was nothing compared to how much fun you wouldve had with mommy and daddy but i do hope it was good. Well thanksgiving and Christmas will be here soon and the snow! so make sure you take extra good care of mommy and daddy around those times. Visit mommy in her dreams and let her know that youre doing good and that youre ok, because then i know she'll feel a little better!! Well we miss you and good night sweet baby!!

Well Atlas you've been gone for over a month now but it seems like yesterday you were born. Everyone misses you so much!! I never got to meet you but I know you were a sweet angel even before you went to heaven! I stopped by to wish you a happy first Halloween in heaven! I read about your story on myspace and I am so sorry for your loss. I know nothing can take your pain away and I am sorry he had to suffer, but now he is in a better place and god had a plan for him.
