BETTY JANE BARTNIK CEDAR LAKE, IN
Betty Jane Bartnik, age 86, of Cedar Lake, passed away on February 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Bartnik; and son, Michael Lawrence Bartnik. Betty is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Peter) Jaremczuk of Chandler, TX and Lynda Brown of Morrison, IL; five sons: John Bartnik, Jr. of Cedar Lake, Bill (Nita) Miller of DeMotte, Patrick (Terri) Bartnik of Crown Point, Jim (Maria) Bartnik of Munster and Christopher Bartnik of Guam; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, February, 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Burdan Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Tlucek, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 4:00-9:00 p.m. at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave. (corner of Rt 41 and 129th Ave.) Cedar Lake, IN. Betty worked at Salesians Prep School in Cedar Lake for 14 years. She retired from St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point after 17 years of service. She was also a Pink Lady at St. Anthony Hospital for many years to the present. Betty loved to travel, watch classic movies, and work crossword puzzles. Mrs Bartnik was a wonderful lady. I always enjoyed visiting with her. We would talk about Salesian days. My deepest sympathy. I am truely sorry I will not be able to attend the services. She is in my prayers.
