Let me begin by saying what an Icon to our country and to the USMS. I've read his accomplishments and achievements during his years of service during the war. I cant begin to imagine the adversity he has had to overcome during his struggles of war. What a HERO!!! I am currently assigned to the USMS VOTF here in Lafayette, Louisiana and have been in Law Enforcement for 27 years. I have served in the military as well and so when I hear of an historical achievement like Mr.Burks I can only say "Thank You" for your service to our country which will never be forgotten and service to the USMS. Prayers to his family and God bless.
