Clements VanderZee Obituary
Clements P. "Clem" VanderZee, age 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 7, 2011. Clem was born on May 3, 1933 in South Holland, IL and had been a resident of Naples, FL since 1982. Prior to moving to Florida, he grew up and lived in Hebron, IN. Clem is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Betty (Boomsma) VanderZee; sons: Tyke VanderZee of Naples, FL and Timothy (Dawn) VanderZee of Kouts, IN; granddaughters: Amanda (John) Higgins of Valparaiso, IN, Beth (Joel) Phillips of Kouts, IN, Kali VanderZee of Naples, FL, and Brooke VanderZee of Naples, FL; grandson, Ryan Gaddis of Kouts, IN; sister, Nita (Ron) Welsh of Grosse Ile, MI; brother and sisters-in-law: Harold and Karen Boomsma, Milton and Marge DeYoung, Shirley Sikma, Martha Boomsma, and Art Fanning. Clem served his country in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. He served his Lord and his church with multiple terms as Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Naples, FL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, 624 N. Main Street, Hebron, IN with Dr. Robert Petterson officiating. Interment at Holland Cemetery in Demotte, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Geisen Funeral Home in Hebron from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clem's memory may be made to the Honor Wall, c/o Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6726 Trail Blvd., Naples, FL 34108. Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Vanderzee. We were so sorry to hear the news today and that we had missed the service. We will always remember him as a very kind, caring and gentle man. Our thoughts and prayers are with your whole family.

Luke 6:23 says, "Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven." Clem has been a faithful servant and now he is rejoicing and leaping for joy in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
We remember our friend Clem with fondness.
