Clifford Ashley

Clifford Ashley Hobart Clifford Ashley, age 81, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2006 at Saint Mary Medical Center. He was a longtime area resident and served his country during WWII in the European front with the Army. Clifford was retired from Ford Stamping Plant, where he worked as an overhead crane operator for 33 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 54 and VFW Post 5365. He made numerous donations to charitable organizations and will be remembered by his family as a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Clifford is survived by his children: Naoma (Edward) Wheeler of OK, Deana (Joel) Remaley of Hobart, Darrell Ashley of IL; brother, Harold (Lois) Ashley of MO; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Patty), Jeffery, Jill and Scott Remaley; great-grandchildren: Joel, Devon and Connor Remaley; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia; parents: Claud and Stella Ashley; sister, Florence Hale and infant sister. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Gerald T. Walworth, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart. Visiting hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006, with an American Legion and VFW service at 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
