Pastor Donald Ray Good, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1938, to the late Leonard and Delia (nee Renner) Good in Colmar, Kentucky. Donald married the love of his life Sandra Jane Hall, on June 10, 1957, in Lake City, Tennessee and they spent 57 loving years together before her passing on December 27, 2014. Donald retired in 1998 from Bethlehem Steel after 33 years of service. He devoted his life to the Lord, serving as a pastor for over 35 years at Bible Baptist Church in Portage. Donald's children and grandchildren were of utmost importance to him. He cherished his family and enjoyed visiting Tennessee to spend time with his brothers, sisters and other family members. In his spare time, he built houses and devoted time to preaching. He will be so dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Valerie (Richard) Lewis of Hobart, Melonie (Walt) Henley of Tennessee; two brothers, Bob and Paul Smith; two sisters, Mildred (Bob) Shepherd and Billie Jean (Joe) Olvey all of Tennessee; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many other loving family members and friends in Christ.

Donald was preceded in death by his love, Sandra Jane Good; loving stepfather, Ester Smith; biological father, Leonard Good; mother, Delia Smith; brother, Jim Smith and sister, Charlotte Cox.

A funeral service for Donald will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of New Chicago, 401 Huber Blvd. Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will be Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11 am at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 pm also at First Baptist of New Chicago.
