Earle Hites Obituary

Earle Floyd Hites, Jr. Merrillville/Shelbyville Earle Floyd Hites, Jr., age 89 of Merrillville, formerly of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Monday, January 17, 2005. Earle was a member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine Club #16369, Shelby Lodge No. 28 F and AM., the American Legion Post #70. He was a veteran of World War II- U.S. Navy and a retired bulk oil distributor in Shelybville with over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Era L. Hites. Survivors; son, Earle F. (Katherine) Hites of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Virginia L. (Marcello) Romano of Italy; four grandchildren, Kevin Hites, Sarah (Stephen) Jaser, Carlo (Mariella) Romano, Deborah Romano; two great-grandchildren, Marcello Romano, Jr., William Jaser. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (time of service). Private interment will precede memorial service in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
