Edward Bowles Obituary

Edward H. Bowles, Jr. Hobart, IN Edward H. Bowles, Jr., age 70 of Hobart passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Ed has been a life long area resident and a graduate of Dyer High School. He has a bachelor of science degree in Business Economics form Purdue University. Ed was a member of the Beta Phi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was a past member of Civitan, South Bend Lions Club, past president of Hobart Chamber of Commerce, Hobart Rotary and YMCA. Past Executive Director of Lake Area Untied Way with 22 years of service and was a past Interim Executive Vice President of East Chicago Economic Development Foundation. Ed retired from NIPSCO after 32 years as Director of Area Development. Ed had been a member of the Hobart Federal Savings Bank Board of Directors for many years and was the current Chairman of the Board. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Maikki; son, Johnathan (Danielle) Bowles of Gary; two daughters: Heidi (Brian) Ellis (nee Bowles) of Hammond, Kirsten Bowles of Hobart; one brother, Alfred Bowles of Indianapolis. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Gosser officiating. Cremation will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2006 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
