Edward Martin Obituary
Edward S. Martin, age 73, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on December 28, 1934 in Gary, IN to Alfred Roland and Julia (Sprencel) Martin. Edward is survived by his wife, Wanda of Chesterton; children: Sue Martin-Urback, Julie Toth and Edward S. Martin III, all of Chesterton; three grandchildren: Dakota Hartman, Jamie Hartman and Sierra Urback; three brothers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas "Tommy" A. Martin; and one sister. Edward was an area resident since 1962. He retired from U.S. Steel after 43 years of service and enjoyed square dancing. He was a veteran of the US Army. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. A private funeral service will be held on Friday for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jamming for Jamie Fund (Jamie Hartman) at Fifth Third Bank. www.EE-FH.com
