I am very saddened at the loss of Erik. I always knew he was one of the brightest guys I would ever come into contact with. His humor and wit were not to be matched. I hope, despite the circumstances, that Erik left many great memories for you, as he did me. Kirsten, family, and friends...you are in my prayers regularly.

I was very sad to hear about Erik's passing and would like to extend my deepest condolences to Kirsten and the rest of his family and friends. Although Mark and I never knew Erik well and haven't seen him since high school, we both remember him as a very funny, intelligent, and thoughtful person. Even back then, it was obvious that he had a way of touching people's lives with what appeared to be the greatest of ease. Our thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

When I think back on my memories of Erik, all I can do is smile. He was the kind of person who opened your eyes to the funny yet deeper side of life. I will always remember the good times like Skittle soccer, dancing, the geometric fish pond at McDonald's and long talks at McDuffy's. He was the definition of a good friend. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.

I will always remember my beloved friend that I met at Myers, whose quick-witted humor could always make me laugh. Erik had that unique ability to provoke my thoughts to a deeper level. He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him. May God be with his family and friends so that they may find peace in the memories of such an amazing person.

My sweet Erik, I can't believe you are gone. For the past 13 years, we have shared a very close and most unique relationship. You always knew what I was thinking before I uttered a single word. You finished my sentences and completed my thoughts. I have never had so much fun or laughed so hard with anyone as I did with you. My life feels totally empty without you in it. But you would not want us to be sad; you would want us to be happy that you are at peace now. I know that wherever you are, you're putting a smile on the faces of everyone around you. To your family, I extend my deepest sympathy. He loved you all very much, especially Mom and Dad Sederberg, Grandma, Kirsten, and last but not least your best bud Dan. Until we meet again.....

I will remember Erik's wonderful sense of humor, his jokes, gestures, and comic expressions, his remark of "you chucklehead!" when someone dropped a pun on him. I'll remember talking sports and politics and law with him over the phone, and his willingness to consider other opinions while sticking to his principles. I'll remember, back in the day, playing cards with him for hours on end, through the night until daybreak. Above all, I'll remember that Erik was a good man. He always tried to make those around him smile, and he always meant well. Katie and I offer our deepest sympathy to Erik's family and all others who loved him.

Dear Erik,

You will be missed dearly, friend. Webster's defines the word "friend" as "a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts". I knew you well for the past 20 years, I loved you dearly and through it all, I, like everyone else who knew you, always trusted you. You were a great friend in every sense of the word. We pray that you are at peace. We pray for strength for your family and that God eases their pain in this trying time. We pray that we will remember the best things about you and use a few of the lessons that you taught us all in our own lives -- to be compassionate, a good listener, quick with a joke, close to your family and, most of all, a good person to those we call our own "friends". I'll miss you, Seddie.

Words can not convey the loss I feel in my heart, mind, and soul. Erik was one of my best friends, I was his best man in his wedding, and it was tough to keep my speech down to 10 minutes when it came to compliments. I told him I loved him more times than I have my brother or father. There is a hole in my life now that can only be filled with memories, but boy, there are some good ones: Uncle Pete's, Purdue, dances, parties, weddings, cartoons, fairs, concerts, Burger King and Camelot, the list goes on. I love you pal, I'll see you again someday. To Moma and Papa Sedie, I love you guys too, and call on me for anything!!! Erik, me, Patsie and Weesie will be with you soon, wait up for us!!

Dear Jeff, Sandy, Kirsten and Erik's extended family, Troy and I are so saddened to hear about Erik's passing. Erik was my second big brother and I have so many memories of him growing up on Elmwood St. I think about his pranks in the woods, his love of pro-wrestling, his brilliant wit, his ability to burp the alphabet or funny jokes in one breath, our time at Great America bugging Bozo, his water-skiing catastrophe on our boat, his love of dancing and the great memories of him on the PHS stage. I hope he has found peace and that, in time, his family and friends are able to do the same. I will really miss your smile, Erik.

P.S. "It's my lunch, ha!"

I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of Erik’s family and friends.

I knew him in high school, college and beyond. He was extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. He was funny and a fun guy to hang with. I will miss our conversations about law, religion and all the rest. I always wished the best for him and considered him a long time friend. His passing has saddened my heart in a way that is hard for me to convey. I miss him now, but I know that he is at peace and in heaven.

I am saddened to hear of Erik's passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. My fondest memory of Erik is from 7th grade English class. Once it was discovered that he believed puns to be the lowest form of humor, the rest of the class worked to decorate the classroom bulletin board with all sorts of puns, humorously directed at him. I hope that on some level, he enjoyed it. So to "Myth America: Erik Sedergerg," you will be missed.

I was so saddened to hear of Erik's untimely passing. His dry sarcastic wit will never be forgotten as it always made me laugh. Little league baseball is where I first met Erik and his unique nature. I recall a time when he was arguing with his coach mid-game only to then joke with me on the basepaths about that same argument. In my opinion, he liked to rile us up only to let us in on the "joke" later. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kirsten and all his family and friends.

I've known Erik since we were in kindergarten or first grade. We rode the bus together along with his little sister Kirsten. I remember Erik as always being up-beat and making everyone laugh. Since graduation, we talked only a handful of times, and it was always great to talk about how our lives were going. My sister now lives on the street that Erik grew up on and everytime I've passed his house I've thought of him and his sister. Erik will be forever missed by myself and everyone he touched. I am very saddened by his untimely death. My heart goes out to him and his family. Please know that he will never be forgotten and that you are in my prayers. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have so many fond memories of Erik. Erik was the first person I met when I moved to Portage the summer before my sophomore year of high school. As I was walking my Great Dane down the street Erik said hello, and I instantly was glad to have a friend. I look back and think of all of the times Erik was there to talk to me during high school when I was struggling with my own problems, and how selfless and loving he was toward me. I will always remember the good times we had, like swinging on the Flag Pole at Fegely, bobbing for lemons in my parent's hot tub, making popcorn, and sneaking out at night just to talk. I know Erik would want all of us to remember those times. He will be sorely missed.
