Evelyn Loeffler

EVELYN (ROSS) LOEFFLER VALPARAISO, IN Evelyn (Ross) Loeffler of Valparaiso, age 87, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully on December 17, 2016. Evelyn was a true native East End Londoner, born to Isaac and Deborah Rosenbaum on September 2, 1929. She was evacuated as a child to the Welsh countryside to escape the London blitz at the outbreak of WWII. After the war, she emigrated to America, passing through Ellis Island and joining her war-bride sister Sally in Gary, IN, where she met and married her husband of 60 years, Otto H. Loeffler of Valparaiso, who survives. Evelyn's life work was devoted to caring for her children, and ultimately her grandchildren. She loved classical music and traveling with her husband to visit family. She complained endlessly about the weather. She is survived by her children, Paul Loeffler of Exeter, California; Brian Loeffler of Chesterton; Greg Loeffler of Indianapolis; Lisa Sanford of Denver, Colorado; Jennifer Bishop of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. We wish to thank the very special staff of the Golden Living Memory Care Unit, and Dunes Hospice for their loving care of Evelyn.
