Frances L. Bauer Valparaiso Frances L. Bauer, age 93 of Valparaiso, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Lifecare Center, Valparaiso, IN. Born at Boone Grove, IN June 12, 1910, daughter of the late Franklin D. and Harriett Fox Brody. Memeber of the First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso; 61 year member Women of the Moose Chapter 437; 51 year member College of Regents Women of the Moose; Charter member of Eagles #2517; member and past president of North American Benefit Association; member of Eastern Star Chapter 164 and past Noble Grand of the Rebeccas. Survived by two sons, Jimmie (Beda) Bauer and Roland "Pete" (Carolyn) Bauer of Wanatah, IN, and daughter, Karlene (Calvin) Heaster of Valparaiso, IN; seven grandchildren: Torrie Bauer, Linda Robb, Brenda Heaster-Ritter, Cynthia O'Bryan, Johanna Bauer, Karl and Jamie Bauer; great grandchildren: Benjamin and Brandon Bauer, Jennifer, Sarah and Kristin Heaster, Evan and Andrew Bauer; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Karl W. R. Bauer, great grandson Nate; and four brothers and six sisters. Funeral service Monday, January 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home with Rev. Gretchen Seidler-Gibbs officiating. Burial Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m. with an Eagles Rites at 7 p.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 North Campbell St., Valparaiso, IN. Family wishes memorials to the Eagle Lodge 2517 and First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso. 219-462-3125.

I have a lasting memory of Frances'wonderful smile; she used to give me jars of Ovaltine when I visited. She was a great example of God's grace. Rest in peace, good friend.
