When I was just a lad I met Fred when he opened the Highland Store. As I grew to be a car person, I did business there with Don and Clarence, bought speed parts from Freddy in Hessville and used their quality machine shop services. I went to high school with Bonnie. I've always been impressed with Fred as a person, family man and entrepreneur. He was kind, friendly, cordial and very helpful. His business could be relied on to provide excellent service and value. He was a great asset to the community.
