Garry Rooney Obituary

Garry Owen Rooney, age 75, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Orland Park, IL passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Garry is survived by his wife of 53 years: Mary Ann Rooney (nee Koza); brothers, Owen Rooney, Brian (Tracy) Rooney, and Kevin (Joanne) Rooney; sister, Denise (Michael) Clodfelter; in-laws, Kathie (late Tom) Simpson, Jane (Angelo) DeAngelis, Terry (late Joel) Grossi, Linda (Tom) Husum, David Koza, Diane (Liam) Carey, and Jim (Donna) Koza, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Garry is preceded in death by his sister, Maureen (Steve) Gilbert.
Garry was raised in Flossmoor, IL and was a graduate of Quigley High School, Class of 1968. He received his Bachelor's from John Carroll University, and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Business at DePaul University, and worked as a real estate appraiser with 34 years of service.
Garry enjoyed running and completed the Chicago Marathon. He also loved golfing, and was an avid fan of "da Bears". He had season tickets for many years and never missed a game.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E 117th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 pm until the time of Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Garry's name to the American Cancer Society.
