Dearest Van Slyke(s). Sad to learn of George's passing. My memories include his huge smile and "serious" handshake. There was never a doubt that George was happy to see you. Us kids were sooo lucky to have George & the other Moms and Dads to set us straight. God bless George and the entire Van Slyke family. May the Angels lead him into Paradise.

I was extremely sad to here of the passing of Mr. Van Slyke, a man I had been privileged to know vitually my entire life. At the same time, I could not help but reflect on all the fond memories of time spent with "Uncle Bud" and the entire Van Slyke family. I smile when I envision "Uncle Bud" and brother Bill looking down on us while bowling a few games at Bowl Era. My heart and prayers are with the Van Slyke family. Mary K, I remember fondly crawling up the Hammond Tech fire escape tube over 60 years ago so that George and I could be with you and Bonnie at the dance. Don't remember how many times we slid backwards in that three story tube before we made it but it was worth it.
