Helen Yu Obituary

HELEN YU MARYLAND
Helen Acevez Yu, of Maryland, passed away November 17, 2007. She was the beloved wife of William D. Yu; loving mother of Sophia Elena and Spencer William Yu; beloved daughter of Oliver and Lucina Acevez. Also survived by sisters: Lu Lu Acevez Perez and Olivia Paxton; and a host of other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029. Interment to follow at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Witzke Funeral Home, Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Louis Catholic Church.

The passing of Helen was a shock to hear. I'm so sorry to hear of such sudden sad news. We went to Holy Trinity together and hung out in grade school. She will be sadly missed.

To the Acevez Family

There is no way to lessen the sorrow of losing a very dear daughter and sister, but please remember others care very much and wish you strength and comfort at this sad time.

I met Helen back in 1983 at Bishop Noll Institute. I had the pleasure of attending school with her during our freshman and sophomore years. She and I were very good friends and she was always so kind to offer me a ride home in her Pontiac Firebird. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always so happy, cheerful and full of life. I last saw Helen back in the Summer of 1985. A mutual friend Maggie Martinez held a party for me as I was moving to Phoenix Arizona with my family. Helen was so gracious to attend and we had a blast that night. I was made aware of your loss during a recent visit to Chicago in January 2008.

I can't express enough how sorry I am for your loss. I Just want you to know that my prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time.

May your family find peace and comfort with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you all.
