Helena Mielczarek Obituary

HELENA MIELCZAREK GARY, IN Helena Mielczarek, age 87, of Gary, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point. Helena was born in Poland on December 28, 1925 and had been a longtime Northwest Indiana resident. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Helena and her husband, Idzi, had attended the Salvatorian Shrine. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Idzi Mielczarek. Helena is survived by her sons: Ziggie (Maria) Mielczarek of Lowell and Joe (Monica) Mielczarek of California; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at the Salvatorian Shrine, 5755 Pennsylvania Street, Merrillville with Rev. Lukasz Kleczka celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. rosary at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart Chapel.
