Irene Adams Obituary

DYER, IN - Irene D. Adams (nee Artim), 93, of Dyer, IN, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph T. Adams Jr.; sister, Donna (Robert) Hansen; and daughter, Leslie (Don) Kirschner. She is survived by five children: Thomas (Patricia) Adams, Lisa (John) Demy, Paul (Sandy) Adams, Tish (George) Brasovan and Joseph Adams III; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Elvin (Nancy) Artim.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, 9:30 -10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Mass will be held immediately after. The burial of her cremains at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN, will follow the Mass.
Irene was born in Hammond, IN, to the late Lucille and Alvin Artim. She was a former resident of Hammond and Munster. Irene graduated from Clark High School in 1948. She was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for over 40 years, actively taking part in numerous parish events; she was a eucharistic minister and a pastoral care lay-minister. She was an active member of the Munster Women's Club. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SHARE Foundation with the Handicapped.

Irene was my cousin. She was a wonderful caring person. She always made you feel special. Irene was a devoted mom and wife. My prayers are sent to her family Rest in peace Irene , you are now with Joe. Lots of Love Pam

Miss Irene was a wonderful person . I had a few meetings @ their home w her Husband , Joe , who was Holy Name Society President, I was secretary of St Thomas More Church ! Irene was the best host offering me delicious dessert and coffee! I´ll never forget them ! My sincere condolences to their Family . Requiem in pace
