Irene Olsen

IRENE (PITHES) OLSEN CROWN POINT, IN Irene (Pithes) Olsen, age 85, of Crown Point, Indiana died after a long battle with Parkinson's disease early Monday morning, June 3, 2013. Mrs. Olsen was born on June 7, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Steve and Elda Pithes. On October 23, 1948 in Racine, Wisconsin she married her loving husband of 57 years, the late Clarence R. "Denny" Olsen. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Esther (Pithes) Calamaris. Mrs. Olsen was retired from Western Publishing in Racine, WI where she worked for 32 years. Mrs. Olsen and her husband retired to San Benito, Texas for 23 years before returning to the area in 2005. Mrs. Olsen enjoyed dancing and traveling throughout the world with her loving husband. Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Reverend Robert C. Breitbarth at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 8061 East U.S. 30 in Crown Point. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Olsen to the donor's choice of either Resurrection Lutheran Church or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
