James E. Casteel

James E. Casteel Valparaiso, IN James E. Casteel, age 56, of Valparaiso, IN, a dedicated Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, passed away May 5, 2007 after a short illness. Jim was born May 3, 1951 in Lawrenceville, IL to Albert J. and Rosemary Casteel (nee Waldrop), both of whom preceded him in death. The family relocated to Hammond, IN and then Crown Point, IN., where Jim grew up. He graduated from Crown Point High School in 1969, and attended St. Joseph College and LaSalle University. Jim was a Master Mason, Lodge #735, F&AM, Griffith, IN. Jim is survived by his son Jamison Lee of Avon, OH; three brothers: John (Joyce) Casteel of Valparaiso, IN., Jeff (Alane) Casteel, of Crown Point, IN and Jerald (Jill) Casteel of Valparaiso, IN; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends and loved ones. Jim was an idea man, and had many great ideas. He was very intelligent and great with numbers. He dedicated a huge part of his life to helping others in need, and was a true testament to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He now rests with our Father in Heaven. Visitation will be held at Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso, IN. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Phil Morgan officiating.
