James Joseph Slattery of Lakes of the Four Seasons and formerly of Dolton, Illinois passed away on December 6, 2025, at the venerable age of 87. Born on November 8, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Jim, as he was lovingly known to his friends and family, was a beacon of kindness and generosity throughout his life.
Jim's legacy is carried on by his loving family: his devoted wife of 60 years, Marianne Slattery (nee Schmittdorsch); his daughters Kathy Keith and Karin Roberts; his son-in-law Jeff Keith; his grandchildren Mary and Isaac Keith and his granddog Daisy. His parents, James and Pauline Slattery, and his sister, Mary Slattery, predeceased him and have now welcomed him into eternal rest. Jim is also survived by his brother Robert (Karen) Slattery and his nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 12, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St, Crown Point, IN 46307.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in James's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Mary Catholic Church.
