PLAINFIELD, IN - Janet "Jan" Argenta, age 66, of Plainfield, IN, formerly of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Jan is survived by her six siblings: Mary (Paul) de Bie, Joe (Marylou) Gent, Ruth Argenta, Jim (Debbie) Argenta, John (Gayle) Argenta and Debbie (Vikki Cortez) Argenta; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents: Marvin and Dora Argenta; and sister, Toni Hoyt.
Jan was born and raised in Gary and was a graduate of Andrean High School, Class of 1975. She was a floral designer with Meadows Florist in Merrillville with over 25 years of service. Jan enjoyed vegetable gardening and harvesting her goods.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 11:00 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 PM with Fr. Tom Mischler officiating. Please be aware of the road closure on 113th Avenue between Broadway and Delaware St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jan's name to the Community Help Network, Home of the Buddy Bags; www.communityhelp.org.

Jan was a devoted daughter, particularly when Dora needed her suport in the last years of her life. Jan only wanted the best for her family and was there when they needed her May she rest in peace.
