IN LOVING MEMORY OF JEFF MOFFITT DAD, SON, BRO, GRANDSON DEC. 3, 1959 - OCT. 10, 2001 MY DEAR JEFF, IT'S THE DAY. I KNEW SOMETHING BAD HAD HAPPENED WHEN THE HAMMOND POLICE RANG MY DOORBELL AND TOLD ME TO CALL THE CHAPLAIN IN NASHVILLE, TENN. I CALLED. HE TOLD ME YOU WERE FOUND "BEATEN TO DEATH". A MURDERER TOOK YOUR LIFE, WE WONDER IF HE HAD A WIFE AND FAMILY. THE PAIN HE CAUSED, THE HURT IS STILL THERE, YOUR DEATH WAS SENSELESS...SO UNFAIR. WE SIT HERE REMEMBERING, WONDERING WHY YOU HAD TO DIE. NO LAST GOOD-BYES, NO HAND TO TOUCH. BUT WE WHO LOVE YOU DEEPLY KNOW YOU ARE NOT GONE. YOU ARE IN GOD'S KEEPING TIL WE MEET AGAIN.
