Joan Houck Hammond Joan Houck, age 72, of Hammond, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Judith E. (Mike) Sexton of Hammond and Joyce A. (Don) Gootee of Ft. Myers, FL; three grandchildren, Larry, Jimmy and Elaine Brown; great-grandchildren: brother-in-law Kenneth (Faye) Houck of Indianapolis; sister-in-law Anne (late William) Houck of Highland; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Houck, parents Otto and Susie Soczyk and sister Evelyn (Bronnie) Crane. Funeral services Thursday, October 14, 2004 DIRECTLY AT St. John Bosco Church in Hammond, IN. Joan will lie in state at the church from 9:30 A.M. till time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. At rest, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond. Prayer service Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Joan was a lifelong area resident, member of St. John Bosco Church and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #126.
