Joan L. O'Hare (nee Neilson), age 90, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Joan is survived by her children: Timothy (Patricia) O'Hare, Kelli (Michael) Nissan; grandchildren: Matthew (Crystal) O'Hare, Timothy M. "Mike" O'Hare, Megan (Jim) Hernandez, Tyler and Dylan Nissan; and great-grandchildren: Hailey O'Hare, Bodevan, Veda, and Eliza Hernandez.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. O'Hare; son, Daniel O'Hare; and parents: Marvin and Vida Neilson.
She had a love for life's simple joys and found great happiness in cooking meals to share with others, spending time at the card table with friends and family, and tending to her garden.
Joan is survived by her significant other of over 20 years, Jerry Schwaller, with whom she shared a devoted and enduring bond.
Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
