I have many happy memories of Coach Dermody from sophomore basketball and, of course, from baseball games and baseball practice. I sensed his grin as the pitchers and catchers ran an extra lap or two around the field after the rest of the team was done at practice. Also he liked to throw batting practice and slick you with his Ephus pitch. He was a very personable man. He was a great coach and was very successful in development of discipline and team work that has been so important to me throughout my life.

Really enjoyed our trips to the NCAA Tourney in the mid-70's with Rogie and Beaver. What a great sense of humor and what a good guy.
