Joseph P. Balash Crown Point Joseph P. Balash, age 87, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in Crown Point, IN. He is survived by his faithful companion and caretaker, Helen (nee Bellis) Auskalnis of Crown Point, IN; sister, Dorothy Siska; many nieces and nephews; and dedicated pet, Candy. Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; sisters: Mary, Ann, Julia and Helen; and brother, John. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, Crown Point, IN with Fr. Mark Pavlina officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East Street, Crown Point, IN on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mr. Balash was retired from Inland Steel with over 34 years of service. He was a member of the 25 Year Club. Joseph was a disabled Army Veteran serving in WWII.
