Joseph Ksenak Obituary

JOSEPH KSENAK, JR. HOBART, IN
Joseph Ksenak, Jr., age 81, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on July 8, 1927 in Hobart to Joseph and Mary Ksenak, Sr. He lived in Lake County all of his life, except for a period of three years when he lived in Martinsville, IN so he could be close to his son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons, whom he loved and missed. Joseph was a veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict. He served in the 194th F&BN. His mother passed away when he was a baby and was lovingly raised by his stepmother, Helen. He retired from U.S. Steel Co. He was a member of U.S.W. Local 1014. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Sr., Mary, and Helen Budzielek; brother and sister-in-law: John and Vivian Ksenak. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Agnes (Gremczyk) Ksenak; son, Michael (Susan) Ksenak; two grandsons: Jarrett and Grant Ksenak of Martinsville; brothers: Mike of Miller and Frank (Janice) of Hobart; sisters: Irene (late Frank) Mochaitis and Monica (Willis) Wiley of Hobart. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. Joseph loved to take pictures and bake for his family and friends. Friends may visit Friday, November 21, 2008 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland Street, Merrillville, IN. Prayer service Friday at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home and 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Evanick officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

To the Ksenak Family,

I am sorry for your loss. I just found out about Joe passing away when we went to visit him at Brentwood today. Our family got to know him well over the years after meeting him at the fish fry. He was a wonderful man and will truly be missed.
