Joyce L. (nee Potts) Locke

HOBART, IN - Joyce L. (nee Potts) Locke, age 91, of Hobart, formerly of Gary, IN, passed away September 30, 2024.

She was a graduate of Emerson High School and retired from the School City of Hobart. Joyce was a big part in creating the Hobart Girls Softball League. In addition to coaching, she also played in the Hobart Women's League.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother and father, Blanche and Emler Potts; loving husband, Robert Locke; sister, Patricia Tompkins; granddaughter, Christin Locke; great-grandson; and Austin Locke.

She is survived by her five children: Bob (Cindy) Locke, Dan (Mary) Locke, Cathy (Jim) Busse, Sue (Bob) Brooks, Terrie (Bob) Anderson; sister, Joan Jewell; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 East 7th Street, Hobart, IN 46342.

Friends may visit with Joyce's family, Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM and join them for the funeral service Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
