Judith T. Okray (nee Bochnowski), age 84, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Judith is survived by her children: Richard G. (Carol) Okray, Lynn (Brian Wall) Griglin, Daniel P. Judith was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard Okray; grandson, Bret Anthony Griglin; sister, Bonnie Harrigan; parents: Edward and Theresa Bochnowski; special friend, Harold Spletzer; and hundreds of friends.

Judith was an avid sewer and enjoyed quilting. She also loved to dance and travel.

Judith was a devoted member to St. Mary Catholic Church and sang in many choirs. She was a volunteer at the Southlake Methodist Hospital.

Judi was a light to those around her. She was fun. She attracted people. Whether it was early days of supporting charity events and fundraisers, to playing cards with her friend group, to hanging out at the boat club, to being the mom that opened up the house everyone, to often hosting a family get together, to being the grandma that played dress up, games, and baked goods. When Judi was there, everyone had a great time. She loved making people feel special and welcomed!

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The family asks that you wear color to Judi's services - She said "be colorful and celebrate my life!" So, be colorful! After all she was known as the gaudy grama!!

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.

My condolences to the family. I am Judi's cousin on the Bochnowski side of the family. I will always remember Judi for her sense of humor, and joy in all things, and her many talents, including quilt-making. And I cannot forget that Judi was the only grandchild our grandmother, Mary Bocknowski (a midwife) delivered. May she rest in peace.
