My dad, Bob Muha [The Pepsi Man], knew Ken and your family well. He spoke of him often, while telling stories of his Pepsi delivery days. God Bless. Prayers for Peace and Comfort.

Oh my goodness, I go so way back with this family but I do remember His huge heart!!! They were one of my neighbors when they opened the delocks store in Hammond by Irving Park. They moved into the house right across the street from me. I was good friends growing up with Sherry, Linda, and the boys. (sorry to hear of Steve's passing as well) I came across this obituary and just had to say what a wonderful man he was. Treated me like a daughter as well. and Helped My father out several times with the baseball team that he coached. was always willing to help and offer assistance. I remember working for him selling flowers in that little trailer booth as well as fireworks around the 4th of July. Great Memories and best times of my life. My sincere sympathy goes out to all of you. I too live in Cedar Lake as well and before my husband passed every time we would pass where your dad lived, he would always say that's where Ken Spurlock lives. He grew up in our neighborhood as well but never really knew him personally. I pray for you all to get through this. Its difficult Times trust me I know. and so so sorry I did not see this until after the visitation. you are all in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Just heard of Kenny's passing and am very sadden by this news. My condolences to the family. Kenny was one of my favorite people with his contagious smile and joy for life. One of my favorite memories (and there were many) is taking my grandchildren to the house to see the horses. No matter what he was doing, he would stop and take them out riding in the golf cart. And come back with them driving! He always made you feel so welcome. Which makes me believe that is exactly what Heaven is doing for him now.

My condolences to the Spurlock family on the passing of your Dad. My first job was working for Ken just as my brother did. He, and all of you great sons & daughters (Dave, Gary,Steve "RIP", Cheryl and Linda were all like family to me, growing up and working at 16 years old. He was always full of fun & laughs throughout the years going by and made working a job a whole bunch of fun. Lots of real good times & memories with all of you. Take care and God bless.

I did not know Mr Spurlock personnaly, But I would like to share how generous he was years ago. When I was 10 and 11 years old (52 years ago) I played at Irvine little league and on the Delocks Sox. At the end of the year he invited the entire team to his home in Munster for a cookout at the end of each season. I learned later in life my father-in-law coached the Delocks Sox (1990-1995) and he would take the team to a Chicago White Sox game at the end of the season. He would stop to see Ken before he would go and Mr Spurlock would give him a very generous amount of money to purchase the teams tickets and some refreshments. He was a very generous man and a huge asset for Lake County and Hammond Community.
