Larry Hashman Obituary

LARRY N. HASHMAN VALPARAISO, IN/ PORTAGE, IN Larry N. Hashman, age 78 of Valparaiso/Portage passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008. He was born on April 16, 1930 in Newport, Ohio to the late Ernest and Bessie Hashman. Larry was formerly a longtime Portage resident and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed collecting anything John Deere and miniature horses and also liked working on cars with his grandsons. He was survived by four daughters: Sharon (Gary) Butler of Portage, IN, Susan (Louis) Alcorn of Valparaiso, IN, Cathy (Paxton) Keefover of Francesville, IN, Eugenia Hashman of AZ; one brother, Leonard Hashman of Waterford, OH; nine grandchildren: Gary Alcorn, Geoffrey (Shannon) Butler, Virginia (Louis) Bain, Carl (Sara) Pedone, David (Ruth) Keefover, Patience (Glenn) St. Meyers, Michael (Della) Keefover, Stephanie Butler, Devin Droese; 13 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Aaron, Austin, Dannika, Louis III, Victoria, Tori, Vic, Carl Jr., Toni, Andrew, Alexander, Riley, and, one son-in-law, Vic Pedone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bessie Hashman, one daughter, Charlotte Ann Pedone. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are preferred to the family. Funeral services are Thursday, November, 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Mausoleum, Valparaiso. Visitation is Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
