Laurie Foust Obituary

Laurie is survived by her son Steven Foust (Matthew Espersen) daughter Sheri (Chris) Huggins and Grandson Brody Huggins, her loyal dog Gracie Bell and many grand dogs and grand cats. Laurie is also survived by her sister Michaelene Emmerich as well as many nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents: Chester and Margaret Janik.

Laurie was raised in Hammond, IN and was a graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1978. She worked for and retired after 29 years in the custodial department for the School Town of Highland at Highland High School. She was passionate with her cooking and baking, gardening, listening to music and thrifting, always finding the best bargains. Laurie was also a huge animal lover and was very kind to everyone she met.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Lily Cremation & Burial, 2700 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN 46368 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. The family would like to invite you to dinner at the American Legion in Portage following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Laurie's name to Lakeshore Paws, www.lakeshorepaws.org/.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
