HAMMOND, IN - Lucille Jackson "Til", 80, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago.

Survivors are two sisters, Doris Chester and Patricia Moore; one brother, James (Charlyn) Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 11:00 a.m. at HINTON & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 4859 Alexander Avenue East Chicago with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond.

Hinton & Williams Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Jackson family during their time of loss.

Miss Lucille was a wonderful neighbor and friend as we were growing up in Gary, In. She always brought joy and laughter into every room she entered. She was smart, hilarious and we quote her many witticisms to this day. When God made Miss Lucille, He broke the mold - we will miss her.

I was saddened when I heard that Lucille had passed away. We worked side by side for years. Lucille was kind, caring and prominent to all patients. She was funny but always to the point. She will be so missed by family and friends. Until we see each other again, I love you now and forever. Condolences and prayers to the Family.

My heart was broken and I was lost for words when I got the news because I just talked to Lucille that same day! I had to try to make sense of this, I came to the conclusion that God makes no mistakes and we all have a time, I´m just glad to know that I have fond memories of all the fun times with her. To know Lucille was to love her and have so loads of fun. My girl will be missed but I thank God for all the wonderful memories.

Our dearest Auntie gained her wings and went on to be with the Lord! Auntie your presence will be surly missed, my heart is so broken. You were our joy, sound and LAUGHTER. Maneuvering life without you will be a task because I´ve always had your guidance (although I was sometimes hard headed). Auntie you were always the mother I needed and I´m forever grateful to you for taking such good care of your brothers child. Auntie I know you wouldn´t want me to cry but I just can´t help it. Our hearts are hurting to know that our "Auntie Lucille" is no longer with us in the flesh, but we are rejoicing that she and Momma are together again in Heaven!! They were lifelong friends and she was an extremely important part of our childhood!! We are so glad that we were able to spend some quality time with her in October, and she shared with us how much she missed Momma. We were able to reminisce & laugh about our precious memories!! At the end of our visit, we expressed how much we loved her and she expressed that she loved us as well!! "Auntie Til" will always have a special place in our hearts, and we hope that Momma was able to meet her as she entered eternal rest!!
