Martha P. Baker, 79, of Marshall, Ill., passed away 2:50 am CST on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.

Martha was born Nov. 28, 1946 in Gary, Ind., and graduated in 1964 from Emerson High School. She worked for years as a legal secretary for the Federal District Court in Hammond, Ind. Martha was the daughter of Henry Fleming and Martha Powell Fleming.

Surviving are a sister, Jeannie Rodino of Elkhart, Ind.; a daughter, Joelle Grasham of Casey, Ill.; a granddaughter, Brittany (Erik) Benson of Denver, Colo.; a great-granddaughter, Poppy Benson; and a son, Michael Grasham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell W. Baker; and her parents.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Post #5975 of Marshall, Ill. Following her and Darrell's retirement, they moved from Hobart, Ind. to Marshall, Ill. area where Darrell had grown up.

Private burial will be in the VA National Cemetery at Danville, Ill. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. Online condolences are being accepted at pearcefuneralservices.com.
