It is a sad day. She has gone home after a job so very well done here. She has left this world a better and more beautiful place than when she arrived. Mary Swift was a role model for me growing up when I was young. I spent a lot of time with her family as her daughter, Anita, was and still is my best friend. She always had something baking in the oven. I have such wonderful and warm memories of her. All of her children are amazing to this day! She had a heart of gold. She is truly a saint!!

We know Mary is now enjoying her reward for being the wonderful person she was. We moved across the street from her in Valparaiso, where she resided for another 15 years or so. We became good friends and collected each other's newspapers and mail whenever we were away for a few days. On a couple occasions, I was able to go over and close her garage door when she left and forgot to put it down. And what a wonderful cookie baker she was. We always knew we were in for a treat at Christmas time, when she brought over a large variety of tasty cookies. We have missed seeing her after she moved away to be closer to family in her last years. We will always remember her and how she made us feel so welcome when we first became her neighbors. Rest in peace thou good and faithful servant.

My thoughts and prayers are with all her family and friends. Mary was someone that always thought of others! She was so helpful and kind. She made us laugh, smile, and touched our hearts in so many ways. And I cant leave out our Tuesday morning coffee clutches at the Village! Where she baked our desserts for Tuesday mornings. She made birthday cakes for her friends, she invited everyone to share. She was a beautiful Christian woman. She shared many devotions with us. She was an example to many of us. And she loved her family so much! Her family was her pride and joy! She was so happy when family was coming to visit. From the grand daughter that came on Tuesdays to do her hair, the daughter that faithfully took her to church, and to the others that popped in all of the time. Her family learned learned her giving attitude. Shawna and Hunter bringing the glasses for all of the Villagers to see the eclipse. So much love your family has for each other and others! We will miss her so much!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend, my heart goes out to Aunt Mary Lou's family at this time. I'm so glad her and Uncle David came to visit my dad a couple of years ago. I will never forget trips to their house on the lake and all the fun card games we played. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. My brother Kevin will be attending on Thursday and Friday.

For the short amount of time "Grandma" knew of me and my family, she treated us nothing short of being apart of your family. The selfless and full of heart she possesd is greatly spread between your family. May she live forever in our hearts.
