MaryAnn Bearss

PORTAGE, IN - MaryAnn Bearss, 88, of Portage, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born October 7, 1935, in Gary, IN to the late Gilbert D. and Dallas I. (Monahan) Tucker.

MaryAnn married the love of her life, Kim Bearss, in September of 1958 and they were together for 60 years until his passing in November of 2018. While raising four children, MaryAnn also worked as a secretary and played piano and organ at their church, First Christian Church of Lake Station. She and Kim owned and operated an antique business for many years and enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Nichols Lake in Michigan. Above all, she loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.

MaryAnn is survived by her children, Scott (Robyn) Bearss, Gregory (Kathy) Bearss, and Cynthia (Jeff) Grandilli; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, MaryAnn was preceded in passing by her son, Terry Bearss, and sister, Toni Tucker.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at REES FUNERAL HOME, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368, with service to follow at Noon. To leave condolences, please visit www.reesfuneralhomes.com
