Michael Matich Obituary
Michael Matich, age 93, late of South Chicago, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010. Loving father of Michael (Darlene Rubcic) Matich, Mark (Frances) Matich and Melanie Matich; proud grandfather of Mark, Michelle and Jonathan; dear brother of Zora (Dave) Cloghessy; and caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Vujo and Sophie Matich and siblings: Juka Matich, Mitzi Davis and Mary Drakulich. Kind former husband of Frances Olsen. Michael proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member and Officer of the Local Ironworkers Union #1, American Legion Post #485 (Schererville, IN), V.F.W. and the Masonic Palace Lodge #765. Michael was an Ironworker and retired from Local #1. Funeral services 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 S. Baltimore Ave., Chicago, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery, Oak Lawn, IL. Visitation 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Pomen Service 4:00 p.m. (773) 646-1133.
