MICHAEL J. NOVOSEL, SR. HIGHLAND, IN
Michael J. Novosel, Sr. 85, of Highland, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Frances; their children: Janet (Michael) Gorman of Merrillville, Joseph (Mary Jane) Novosel of Ft. Wayne, IN, Rosemary (John) Stock of Indianapolis and Michael (Patricia) Novosel of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren: Margaret Gorman and Ann (Kurt) Gorman-Connolly; Nicholas and Pauline Novosel, James (Elizabeth) Allgire, Jr, Robin Schmidt and Heather Allgire, Sarah and Lily Novosel; and great-grandchild, Keonil. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave., Highland, IN and a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Highland with Rev. Edward Moszur officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial of cremains on Monday at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, IL. Visitation Friday 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mr. Novosel enjoyed fishing, traveling and dancing with his wife. He was retired from Westshore Pipeline and was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII, Normandy, North France, the Rhineland Campaigns including Ardennes. He was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Church as Head Usher and former Parish Council Member. He was a member of the Elks, the Croatian Lodge of Merrillville and the Northwest Indiana Woodworkers Association. Memorials to O.L.G. School Endowment Fund or Hospice of the Calumet Area would be appreciated. www.fagenmiller.com

My dad taught me alot over the years reflecting back some were quite subtle. Painting walls, minor electrical,gardening just to name a few. He loved fishing and working with wood. Now I love that he is with the "Greatest Fisherman and Carpenter" there is. Love you Dad and will miss you.
