Michael Richard Woolsey, age 77 of Calumet City, Ill. passed away Friday, October 24. He is survived by his wife: Carol Woolsey; sister, Tamara Crowell (Nee Woolsey); sons, Michael Brace Woolsey, Cody Woolsey; daughters; Ginger Woolsey, Amber Woolsey; granddaughter; Farrah Martin; grandson; Jesse Woolsey; nephews; Gary Miketinas, Eric Miketinas, Nathan Crowell. Preceded by beloved wife, Julie Woolsey (99); parents, Leona and Roscoe Woolsey; sister; Demetria Woolsey; brother, Kevin (Rusty) Woolsey.
Michael is a retired Fire Captain with the Calumet City Fire Department. A long-standing member of Local 621, he was an executive board member who negotiated many contracts throughout his 20 year career. He was a former member of Calumet City Lions Club. A graduate of Hammond High Class of 1966. He attended and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in marketing, and a member of the SAE fraternity. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, watching and coaching a variety of sports.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 1 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Burns Kish Funeral Home 8415 Calumet Ave. Munster, Ind.
